Weaker and Weaker

Well, James seems to still be doing well.  Last night Patrick observed that either James was getting heavier by the day, or he was getting weaker and weaker.  I noted that my biceps were increasingly sore as well.  Therefore, we concluded that James seems to be thriving, though we did observe that sleep deprivation was probably not good for building or maintaining muscle mass.  So it could be some combination of the two.
I had to go to work briefly yesterday to talk with my new sub, so I got a mere taste of how much it will suck when I have to go back full time.  Don't get me wrong; it was good to see some of my students and coworkers and to think about teaching for a while.  But I was away from James for four and a half hours, and that was torture.  No sense in worrying about it now though.  It's still two months away, and I'm holding him now, so that's what matters.  More later.

Hey, Guys - My youngest son, Michael, who is just like me and has more energy than he has good sense - - didn't sleep through the night for the FIRST YEAR!!!! He was never sleepy, and would sit in the rocking chair with me (I was half asleep) and he would watch Johnny Carson, and the beginning and middle of the Late, Late show!

It was really a trial for me, because his older brother started sleeping through the night in about a month or so. Every time I would complain about him to my mom, she would smile and say, "Well, he's just like his mother" (like that's what I wanted to hear!). I got where I just didn't make any complaints about him, because I got tired of hearing that same, stale answer.

Anyway, he is getting cuter and cuter (Not you Patrick - come on!) and I am so enjoying his journal.

Hang in there - he is SOOOO worth it all! Love to you both!

When you look back on this 30 years from now, you'll be glad you did it while you're still young, strong, and energetic. (Just thinking about what you have ahead of you makes me want to go and take a nap.)
